Jewel Tumblers began as an exploration of custom ceramic glazes that reflect the colorful iridescence found in nature. That exploration led us to model these cups on the forms and colors of jewel beetles, endangered but beautiful, naturally iridescent creatures that are found all over the world. Jewel Tumblers are the first in a series of ceramic objects that celebrate the understated and overlooked beauty of these beetles.
